Red Robin and Tom George

Today Lela and I went to lunch with a good friend of mine, Tom.  Tom and I had a few classes together and then he moved to Idaho.  He was back for the holiday visiting family.  I was happy to be able to get together with him one more time before he leaves to head back --tomorrow.  The only thing missing was Lynette. 

Lela had the camera out quite a bit herself during lunch.  She's quite good with a point and shoot for a little one.  Tom even teased her about already understanding the rule of thirds.  She has an interest in photography and I think here in another year or so I am going to get out my old Canon Rebel and start teaching her the basics.

Anyway, here is a quick snapshot of Tom.  I had to sneak out the p&s and shoot from the hip at first which was quite comical.  Tom was nice enough to oblige (okay humor me) for this photo; so no hipshot here.  I think he realized I was getting a shot whether he liked it or not for the 365...I mean, he had been forewarned.  I stuck to it.

Best Friends

Becca and Maddie are best friends.  They went to gradeschool together and now attend different highschools but that doesn't keep them from getting together and having fun.  Tonight they are on their way to their first highschool football game at Prep and then on to the Prep Welcome Dance.  I think they're going to have a great time this evening. :)

Lincoln, NE Reception

So Anna and Ben had a Lincoln Reception for all their guests that couldn't make it to their wedding in IL.  I have to tell you they packed the house.  I was kind of shocked that so many people were able to make it to Lincoln that were unable to make it to Quincy.  It made it a lot of fun to see such a good turnout.  Although their wedding night reception in IL was the real deal and much more fun I can't complain about this Friday night reception- it was fun, too!  We danced the night away.  Here is a snapshot of Becca and me that I took with Becca's point and shoot.

Party Like a Rockstar

We got a jumpstart on the 4th! :)  Tonight we all are having quite a great time hanging out on the back deck.  We've grilled out some really yummy food- brats, burgers, zuchinni, vegetarian brats, polenta, and then had some yummy brownies, homemade salsa, and a variety of other munchies.  The Milittis and the Perez' came over and visited.  The boys mostly hung out front while us girls laughed and laughed out back.  We've even seen some fireworks but that is not surprising because Omaha, NE is crazy when it comes to the 4th of July.  Anyway, here are  Sara and Lynette showing us how to pose in a picture.  I think....

It's in the Shadows

At least, it is for me.  I was walking through the house and had to stop and photograph my ceiling.  This is what I captured.  I think it's a fun photograph.

I had a BALL at this wedding.  I think we all did.  It was a beautiful ceremony, gorgeous reception and an evening full of laughs and lots of dancing.  Here is an image of the beautiful couple.

Happy Memorial Day and a Trip Back Home!

Okay, so I thought I was 25 last night and partied like a rockstar.  I wouldn't change my evening for the world.  I had a great time visiting with family that I have not seen in quite awhile.  Jess and Justin's wedding was beautiful and lots of fun.  This morning I invited Sara and Matt's girls to come back with us- we always trade kids for a week or so every summer.  They said yes and off we went....Steve drove.  I slept.  We arrived home safely and I remember that I'm not 25. I think I must rather enjoy being 30 something. I need to

remember that next time before I cut loose. ;)  Today's image represents that discombobulated feeling I woke up with and endured while packing.

This evening I stepped out of the house and snapped a photo of myself.  I'm on my way to meet my friends to go see Legally Blonde!  It's Broadway night and I am excited to see the show and my friends.  It should be a super fun evening!

Leaving Omaha

Kendra, Brandon and Amadeus left this evening.  I was, as always, sad to see them go.  We had a ball the past couple days and cannot wait for the next visit. :D  Anyway, when they were getting ready to pack the truck, Brandon picked Kendra up and then loaded put the camera bag and something else in her hands.  He then proceeded to pick up the luggage and then out the door they went.  I've never seen somebody pack to leave like that before today.  I must say, it looked rather efficient. ;)

 

Back On Track...

...with big floppy sunhats! :D  Have I mentioned purple is my favorite color?  It always has been.  I found this hat at TJ Max and fell in love with it!  So super cute I just had to do a shoot with it and so here is an image from the session today.  I like it!

The Last Holiday Party of the Season

Tonight was the last Holiday Party of 2009 (well, I should say FOR 2009).  It was a family friendly and casual event.  The highlight of the evening was karaoke. The best part was watching a boy about the age of 9 win the "Champion Trophy" after belting out his rendition of Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall.  Boy he thought he was hot stuff! *so cute*  Anyway, I wanted to put up another image of Steve and I together but I just couldn't resist this photo. :D  Here is a shot of the guys having fun with the karaoke....I think we all have a bit of rockstar in us. ;)

Splish Splash I Was Taking a Bath...

long about a MONDAY night! Bathtime was particularly interesting and might I add FUN this evening!  You may think we added a few too many bubbles but I believe we got it jusssssst right! :)  I just have to say I think this definitely puts Becca on the "COOLEST SISTER EVER!!" list.  She was the one to share her bubble bath. *sidenote*  Admittedly, I was a *tad* concerned that we were going to end up with bubbles throughout the entire first floor. ;)
