Today was relatively beautiful...for January in the midwest! This morning there was snow on my deck and by this afternoon it was all but gone. I love the sunshine. I love warm weather. Some of you may disagree with me on the concept of warm but I doubt you live in the midwest...today the highs were expected to reach 40 and for that I am/was thankful! ...and consider warm this time of the year. Especially when those winds aren't blowing.
I don't think this reprieve is going to last long. I believe there is snow in the forecast and that's fine. I'm going to soak it up while I can. Here's my image for today...proof that it was above freezing. ;)
Enjoy yourself a Sunshine Day.

Mixed Media Art
My sister, Kendra, is quite the artist. She creates art in different ways; she uses her words as a writer and designs beautiful multimedia canvas pieces. She has been generous with me and has shared a few of her unique and gorgeous canvas art creations. I finally found the perfect spot for one today. This particular piece features a dreamcatcher so I decided to hang it in the hallway leading to the girls' rooms. Thank you, Kendra! <3

I have a jewel of a jeweler. <3
Becca was in her room creating an original piece of jewelery. She loves making custom jewelery pieces and I really enjoy watching her be so creative. Her pieces are gorgeous and each one is an original piece of art. I decided I had to photograph her at work on her latest creation. I find the different tools she uses, how and what they are each used for during the process, all the colorful beads and different types of wires and clasps fascinating. Who knew so much went into making jewelery? I find it to be an impressive creative talent.
Becca finished her project while I was updating the blog. She made me a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind, black, multi-beaded wrist bracelet. I love it and must say it looks rather dashing on my wrist. <3 ;)
