Chaos? Nah Just a Huge Meet

Becca had a meet today.  It started VERY early so Lela and I stayed home.  It was a large invite meet so Steve said it was a little chaotic.  I am cheating for today's image.  I didn't take this picture, Steve did--I still wanted to use it for today's blog because this is what our Saturday was all about and afterall, this blog is a work in progress review of our year. (Don't worry, I cleared it with him first--he gave me a limited copyright release.)

Biker Becca

Steve wanted a picture of his bike.  Becca wanted to sit on the bike.  They both got what they wanted.

Back to School!

Today is Lela's first day of school!  She was up at the crack of dawn.  It was quite amusing.  We'll see how long this lasts...I bet in a week she is begging for "5 more minutes".  Becca curled her hair this morning and of course, I took a bajillion pictures.  She was a good sport.  I love this photo because it makes me smile.

Back to Normal

Steve is back to work and the facial hair is gone.  He looks like himself again. :)

My Handsome Man

Steve didn't shave while he was gone on his Sturgis trip.  He hasn't since he's gotten home yet.  I actually kind of like it.  He'll shave it once he returns to work tomorrow when his vacation is over but for now he is going to have to put up with me photographing him.  He just looks so different!

WoooHoooo, They're Back!

Steve, Dad, Lonnie and Joe made it back from Sturgis today! It's so awesome to see their smiles and to hear all the great stories.  I love it!  I'm so glad that they were able to make this trip, enjoy themselves and each other and made it home safe.

And they're off!  Today the guys left for their Sturgis trip.  Here are a few images from this morning.

Hiho Hiho It's Off to Work I Go...

Following suit from yesterday.  Here is one of my gnome yard ornaments.  Don't get me wrong.  You would have to go on a hunt to find my gnomes.  And to be completely honest?  They're not really my gnomes.  They're Steve's. It's true.  He has a thing for gnomes...and so does my mother. *big sigh* So one might ask themselves why the fascination for gnomes? How does one end up with gnomes in one's yard or landscaping?  How does one MARRY somebody that has a thing for gnomes?  Believe me.  I ask these same questions myself.  The only difference is I know how this all came about and I think you should be privy to the answers as well.

So, imagine Steve and I registering for gifts for our wedding.  I had the scan gun in my hand (smart me).  Well, Steve really wanted to have a go at scanning so after awhile I reluctantly gave in to his antics (stupid me).  Now, did he prove to me that I was worried for no reason? NO!  He proved to me that he CANNOT be trusted with a scan gun.  I turn my back for one second and he was off, cackling like a madman and wildly (and irresponsibly I might add) scanning GNOMES.  (This is where I always question how I went through with it- the whole marriage thing.  Then I remember that a weird somewhat funny fascination for gnomes is one of those things that fell into the 'I can deal with it for the rest of my life' category.  Besides, it's good material to poke fun with and truthfully we both always get a good laugh whenever the gnomes come up in conversation.)

How does my mother come into the picture?  She's a traitor. She purchased the gnome for Steve because (and I quote here) "What?  Steve should have the gnome if he wants a gnome."  ARE YOU KIDDING ME WITH THIS MOM?!?! *another big sigh*

This particular image is not a photo of the original registered for gnome that became a wedding gift from my mom and dad.  Oh no, this gnome is actually one of several that she has given us over the years AND there are little gnomes underneath him on the shovel.

I really think they mock me.

Get Your Motor Runnin'

Steve took the bike out today.  He was gone for quite awhile but that's cool with me.  He really enjoys it and besides, I had mom and Sara to visit with this afternoon.

Lela's Surgery

Lela was scheduled for surgery early this morning. Or a proceedure. Either way it was to help her knee joint that has been affected by her juvenile rhuematoid arthritis the past several months.  She was a real trooper. Things went very smoothly and she did great!  Here's a photograph of her and her daddy before she went into surgery.

Anna and Ben's Rehearsal Dinner

My sister Anna is getting married tomorrow!!!  I am so excited for her and her fiance, Ben.  We are in Quincy, IL, my hometown this weekend and tonight was the rehearsal dinner.  Ben and Anna decided to have their get together at Upper Morman Park and it was a very relaxed and fun evening.  Here is a photo of my husband, Steve, and Anna from this evening.  He is very happy for my little sis.

Homemade Potato Salad

Tonight I decided to make one of Steve's favorite summer foods. Good ol' potato salad!  Only, this wasn't any ordinary potato salad. It was SUPER yummy and 'complex' in flavor- or so said Steve.  He said it was his 2nd favorite potato salad ever!  1st Place goes to his mom. Not suprising; I've had her's and it is yummy.  I think I scored big with this gourmet recipe. I'll definitely be making this again for dinner soon!  Here is a photograph of the potatoes after they had been peeled, cut and rinsed waiting for the water to boil.

Foolin' Around Camera Fun....

....pretty much sums up my image for today on the 365.  I had already taken an image to share on my E. Vining Photography blog today after reading about  GPOYW on Photojojo yesterday (links are shared on my other blog if you are interested.)  I just realized that it might be slightly strange that my blogging tonight is about my blogging this morning on a different blog...hmm.  If Steve's reads this he is going to call A&E to get an Intervention.  *shrugs*  Anyway, my photo for this evening is a reflection and yes, it has everything to do with blogging...and me :)

The Last Holiday Party of the Season

Tonight was the last Holiday Party of 2009 (well, I should say FOR 2009).  It was a family friendly and casual event.  The highlight of the evening was karaoke. The best part was watching a boy about the age of 9 win the "Champion Trophy" after belting out his rendition of Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall.  Boy he thought he was hot stuff! *so cute*  Anyway, I wanted to put up another image of Steve and I together but I just couldn't resist this photo. :D  Here is a shot of the guys having fun with the karaoke....I think we all have a bit of rockstar in us. ;)
