Today Lela and I went to lunch with a good friend of mine, Tom. Tom and I had a few classes together and then he moved to Idaho. He was back for the holiday visiting family. I was happy to be able to get together with him one more time before he leaves to head back --tomorrow. The only thing missing was Lynette.
Lela had the camera out quite a bit herself during lunch. She's quite good with a point and shoot for a little one. Tom even teased her about already understanding the rule of thirds. She has an interest in photography and I think here in another year or so I am going to get out my old Canon Rebel and start teaching her the basics.
Anyway, here is a quick snapshot of Tom. I had to sneak out the p&s and shoot from the hip at first which was quite comical. Tom was nice enough to oblige (okay humor me) for this photo; so no hipshot here. I think he realized I was getting a shot whether he liked it or not for the 365...I mean, he had been forewarned. I stuck to it.
Thanks for a fun lunch, Tom. Hope to see you this summer if you make your way back.

Starbucks *yUm*
This morning I met with a friend for coffee. It was a nice way to start the day and fun to catch up. I was a bit early so I whipped out the p&s and snapped a quick photo of my treat. When visiting Starbucks I know what I want right away. A nice hot non-fat quad shot grande latte. Mmmmmm! Although I cannot remember what the back of the cup said, something about the enviroment and going green and how 'every time YOU buy a Starbucks you're doing it, too' or ' everytime we do something YOU do it, too' ...something or other. I think I would have liked it to have read something like "This was made just for YOU". Does that make me self absorbed? Probably. That's okay though, because I bought it just for ME. ;) *sidenote* I'm happy Starbucks cares about our earth, I just want to enjoy my coffee- mindlessly- while visiting a friend. Also? I'm not so sure Starbucks and I are doing the same thing simultaneously. Just saying.

Going Away Party
Tonight there was a going away party for our friend, Doug. He is moving to Des Moines, IA. Towards the end of the evening, Lynette joined us. Here is a snapshot of LMR and me at Tanners. :) We took the photo together. It was a fun evening.

"Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall......"
I heart James Taylor ...and I heart Lynette, too. :) Today I am going to share with you a photo of her. I snapped it on Becca's point and shoot (I salivate over those little point and shoots. I truly need to just bite the bullet and buy one for myself soon). Anyway, Lynette is a great friend. We share a lot of things in common (age not being one of the them) and always have a fun time together. I feel blessed to have such a genuine person in my life that I can call a true friend. Today, we ran some errands and had lunch at the house with Becca. I snapped this picture of her as she was attempting to put on her boots before leaving. I suffered the wrath but I like the photo. I would do it again....especially if I had my own p&s...imagine the fun!

"They say there is always magic in the air.....On Broadway"
Okay, so yesterday, January 15, 2010 was my "Broadway Night Out"...aka BNO. About four times a year, four of us, myself and three of my girlfriends, take in a Broadway show. We start the evening off with dinner and drinks and then off to the Orpheum we go to see whatever Broadway Series we have purchased tickets for that particular season.
If I were a Broadway critic, I would have given last night's performance two thumbs down. I wanted to like "Little House on the Prairie", I really did....but no dice. Even Melissa Gilbert as "Ma" was a real disappointment. We cut out of there at intermission. When I say "we cut out", it should read "we ran like lightening".
One thing that wasn't a dud was the evening out with my good friends. We had a ball. Our Broadway nights are fun evenings filled with lots of laughter. I am always a little sad when the night comes to an end. I don't want the fun to stop!
Thanks Frenchie, Queeng and "Yea, well I met Archie Bunker". I had a ball!
